The world was transfixed by the Titanic tragedy and White Star urgently requested the list of survivors. The names were transmitted wirelessly from Carpathia to Majestic to Olympic (Titanic’s sister ship) to Cape Race and on by land line telegraph via the Heart’s Content Cable Station. The list reached New York before the survivors.
The commemorations at Cape Race touched the world as we remembered the loss of Titanic.
